Formula Solitaire: Just as in regular solitaire, the object is to build suits of cards. Only in this case, the suits are formulas. In regular solitaire you build 4 suits of cards. Here, depending on the deck used, you will build between 12 to 14 formulas. First, shuffle the deck. Then, deal the cards just as you do in Solitaire. One card up,six down, one up five down, etc, until you have built seven stacks, each with a card up. Set the rest of card deck off to one side.

Just as you do in Solitaire, you can build your suits (formulas) in two ways; Down from your stacks, or up from an Ace (Envoy herb). Move the Envoy herbs above your seven stacks to build up (eg Envoy, 2nd Assistant, 1st Assistant, Deputy, King) If a formula ends with an assistant or deputy, you may move that card and build up from there. Move cards from one stack to another if they are downwardly sequential (eg move an assistant herb from one stack to one showing the deputy herb of that same formula). Flip over a card from the stack you moved one from and continue.

After a stack is emptied, you may move Kings to the empty space. If you cannot move any cards on your stacks, start flipping over and using, as you can, the cards on what's left of the deck you originally used to make your stacks. You can go through the deck more than once. As you complete formulas, see if you can tell which formula you made. More often than not, you will be able to build up all of the formulas
